| Safwat S. Gabr Research Assistant (PhD Candidate @ SLU) Geological Applications and Mineral Resources Division National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences I am a research assistant in the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS), Cairo, Egypt since December 2001. Before NARSS I worked as a research assistant for the Desert Research Center (DRC), Cairo, Egypt. Currently, I am a PhD student at Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Department (EAS), Saint Louis University (SLU), Missouri, USA.
I have an experience in both Remote Sensing and GIS fields. I've had several courses including a short course in remote sensing in the IIRS (Indian Institute for remote sensing), Dehradon, India in 2002 plus what I have learned in NARSS since December 2001. I also had introductory and advanced courses in ArcGIS by Quality Standards (ESRI-EGYPT) that gave me the skill to be able to produce maps with most of the required remote sensing and GIS analysis. My current research focuses on the tectonic evolution of Egypt as well as remote sensing application in structural geology. |
